Wine Description

Domaine de Montille 's 1er Cru Beaune Les Perrières is a Côte de Beaune nugget. Produced from a parcel at the top of the hillside where 90-year-old vines grow on very stony marl soil, this wine is characterized by its minerality and structure. The precise winemaking carried out by the Domaine de Montille reveals this very specific terroir. This elegant wine has a promising profile for patient connoisseurs.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Domaine de Montille's Beaune Les Perrières is a 1er cru that deserves to be tasted at least once. It combines with great elegance a profile that is both vertical and very supple. It's a brilliant wine, which will benefit from at least 5 years' cellaring before being ready for drinking. A fine promise from Etienne de Montille.

The nose plunges immediately into undergrowth, with notes of crushed strawberries. Accents of minerality, black pepper and rose petals appear after oxygenation, foreshadowing the nuanced finesse typical of the Montille wine estate.

The palate is full-bodied, with a fresh attack and a fine tannic structure. Supple notes of red fruit are followed by aromas of undergrowth, sandalwood and spices. A touch of earth enriches the whole. The whole is still a little firm, and will soften with patience to reveal a superb vertical, mineral column. A magnificent expression of Burgundian Pinot Noir. A particularly seductive Beaune 1er cru!
