Domaine De Montille 'sNuits Saint Georges Aux Thorey is an incredibly lively1er cru. It's a pinot noir from the finest parcels in the appellation. The De Montille family has chosen to vinify this cuvée from whole-bunch harvesting to bring out its lovely bitter notes and, above all, to maintain the wine's structure. The wine is limpid, pure and extremely elegant. A lovely interpretation of the Nuits Saint Georges terroir.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Nuits Saint Georges is a very prestigious appellation in Burgundy, and certainly one of my favorites. Nuits Saint Georges 1er cru Aux Thorey is a wine of great purity, with superb finesse and unique length. Since switching to biodynamic viticulture in the 2000s, Etienne De Montille has been expressing his style: racy, lively, elegant wines. His Nuits Saint Georges Aux Thorey expresses all the subtlety of his terroir and perfectly reflects his philosophy.

On the nose, the wine reveals very pleasant notes of black fruit, a little darker than what is traditionally found in Burgundy. There are lovely notes of blackcurrant, violet and prune.

The palate is full-bodied and dense, with acidity providing the perfect counterbalance. Notes of black fruit, freshness and hints of candied raspberries. A superb Burgundy wine.
