Wine Description

Puligny Montrachet 1er cru Les Folatières from Domaine De Montille is a wine that occupies a very important place in the Burgundy wine landscape. The quality of this terroir, half limestone, half clay, leads us to believe that it is one of Puligny's three best Premiers Crus , along with Le Cailleret and Les Pucelles.

This climate is vast and not homogeneous, but Domaine De Montille has the privilege of being located in the heart of the cru, mid-slope, with two prestigious neighbors on either side: Domaine Anne Claude Leflaive and Domaine Leroy.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : This Puligny Montrachet 1er cru is a jewel from Etienne De Montille . It reveals an intensity and aromatic depth at the top of the range. It is far ahead of most "classic" Puligny Montrachet 1er cru. Ageing in barrels, of which only 5-20% are new, harmonizes tension and concentration. A beautiful wine that should not be missed, as it is all too rare.

On the nose, the profile is vibrant and incredibly seductive, with frank notes of citrus fruit and white flowers, enhanced by hints of toasted almond.

The palate is generous with ripe fruit, sustained by a delicious tension that brings plenty of freshness. A hint of salinity develops persistence on the palate, giving it masterful length.
