Wine Description
Domaine Louis Claude Desvignes' Morgon Corcelette is located on the north-western slopes of the Py hill. This climate is renowned for producing wines of character that are both powerful and full-bodied. It's the granitic terroir that makes it possible to obtain great ageing potential and such beautiful fruit from youth. The vines are an average of 65 years old and are cultivated with the utmost respect, resulting in wines of the highest quality.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: The Morgon Corcelette from the Louis Claude Desvignes wine estate is a pure Gamay. I'm particularly fond of this grape variety for its complexity, but also for the contrast it can create between two cuvées from similar terroirs. It's always very interesting to taste wines from juxtaposed climates to understand the typicity of terroirs and what they convey in wine. At Louis Claude Desvignes, the difference is obvious: it's much easier to enjoy this Corcellette in its youth than any other Côte du Py wine. Go for it!
The nose is very open, with extraordinary fruity notes. A pure moment of pleasure and indulgence. This is a wine that doesn't require any particular oxygenation, but it does require great care when it comes to serving temperature. It should be between 13°C and 14°C to ensure the wine's balance.
When you taste the Morgon Corcelette from the Louis Claude Desvignes wine estate, you're never disappointed by its quality. It develops a very fine, elegant, gourmand palette of aromas. The presence of tannins in the mid-palate gives it extra intensity and a highly digestible side.
