Wine Description

Gaël Petit's cuvée Les Falaises de Braise - Moulin La Viguerie is born on the steep slopes of southern Tavel, where soils combine limestone scree, sand and light-colored clay. From a blend of Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Bourboulenc, Clairette and Cinsault, Gaël Petit builds a wine that balances the sunny temperament of the terroir with the refreshing influence of the Rhône. Winemaking follows the "mille-feuille" method: layers of whole bunches of grapes, laid one on top of the other, alternating with must. The grapes ferment naturally, slowly, without extensive extraction or chemical and oenological inputs. Gravity and patience dictate the pace, delivering a clean, pure, unadorned aromatic profile.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The style of wine sought by Gaël Petit is straightforward, pure, without excessive aromatics, with ample body and a precise profile. The focus is on energy, texture and fruit integrity. The approach favors precision over power, and digestibility over demonstration. Les Falaises de Braise is a Tavel that assumes its density without giving up its élan. It's a frank, precise wine with real presence on the palate. It is more reminiscent of a table wine than an aperitif rosé, in the best sense of the word.

On the nose, the wine opens with aromas of ripe vine peaches. Notes of pomegranate and candied citrus follow, clear but not excessive. A background of incense and garrigue underlines a warmer, almost Mediterranean dimension, without losing sight of the overall freshness.

The palate is full-bodied, balanced by vertical tension and a slightly tannic structure. A real presence emerges from the greedy, herbaceous aromas of nectarine, rosemary and juniper. The lingering finish leaves an assertive, salivating minerality.
