Wine Description
The Côte Rôtie So of the domain Jean Michel Stephan is from the top of the slopes of the Brown coast on terraced terroirs composed of micaschists, strata of stones in very friable sheets. It's aboutone of the largest terroirs of the Côte Rôtie that sublime Jean Michel Stephan.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : So的 Brune is one of the most beautiful Côte Rôtie vinified without sulphur. Its particularity comes from its assemblage of Syrah 92% and Viognier 8% and its very low yield. Indeed, on these steep hills Jean Michel Stephan does not exceed the 20 hectolitres per hectare, even the most beautiful years. The winemaking process begins with a carbonic maceration. Then the breeding is carried out in non-new barrels for 12 months.
On the nose, the wine opens onto beautiful spicy, smoky and baked touches. After oxygenation, floral notes and acidic fruit appear. The olfactory expression is as intense as fine.
The mouth is extremely delicate. We feel the true footprint of the terroir and the style Stephan, wines always complex and for. The rightness and accuracy of this Côte Rôtie embarks us in the highest spheres of tasting. A great wine signed by Jean Michel Stephan.
