The Les Rouges Maisons cuvée from Laherte Frères is a gem made from Pinot Noir grapes grown on the Chavot terroirs. Produced from a single parcel of the same name, this cuvée embodies the excellence of family know-how and the richness of an exceptional vineyard. Produced on an exclusive basis, Les Rouges Maisons stands out for its depth, complexity and perfect balance, making it an ideal cuvée for lovers of fine gourmet wines. Les Rouges Maisons is located mid-slope, in the heart of the village of Chavot. Planted in 1983, it lies on clay soil mixed with fragments of flint, offering natural drainage and exceptional mineral richness. This terroir gives the Pinot Noir an aromatic intensity and structure that are evident in every sip of this cuvée.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : True to its artisanal approach, Laherte Frères makes this cuvée with meticulous care. The grapes are harvested at full maturity, and the slow alcoholic fermentation takes place in barrels, preserving the finesse and elegance of the Pinot Noir aromas. Unlike some cuvées where freshness takes precedence, here malolactic fermentation is carried out, bringing a subtle sweetness and silky texture. Ageing on fine lees for 18 months enriches aromatic complexity and refines structure. With an Extra Brut dosage of 2 g/L, Les Rouges Maisons is a pure, precise cuvée, highlighting all the richness of Pinot Noir.
The nose is complex and enchanting, revealing aromas of fresh red fruits such as redcurrant and raspberry, mingled with floral notes, citrus zest, and a stony minerality typical of flint-rich soils. With aeration, nuances of brioche and toasted hazelnut are added, testifying to precise ageing.
On the palate, the attack is ample and greedy, with a fine tension that perfectly balances the aromatic richness. Red fruit flavors continue with hints of sweet spices and a touch of salinity, offering a long, vibrant and harmonious finish.
