Maison Valette 's Pouilly-Fuissé Le Clos Reyssié is a prestigious cuvée from the Mâconnais region. Located in Chaintré, in southern Burgundy, Clos Reyssié is a 1.5-hectare parcel of deep clay-limestone soil. Facing south-east, this warm but well-ventilated hillside favors full ripening of the Chardonnay while preserving remarkable freshness. The Valette wine estate organically farms its vineyards with exemplary rigor: no herbicides, hand harvesting, measured yields to ensure high berry concentration. This natural approach continues in the cellar, where fermentation is carried out naturally using indigenous yeasts, without the addition of sulfur. The exceptionally long ageing of around 84 months in old barrels shapes a wine of rare intensity and complexity. The blending of the 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 vintages on this Pouilly Fuissé Le Clos Reyssié constitutes the signature of Maison Valette's patient and visionary philosophy.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Maison Valette 's Pouilly Fuissé Le Clos Reyssié is a wine of long ageing, combining power, maturity and precision, with bewitching depth. Prolonged ageing gives it a unique patina and an evolving aromatic framework: a great Burgundy white with an assertive personality, capable of lasting through the decades.

On the nose, the cuvée opens with a refined evolution of roasted notes. Toasted bread and toasted hazelnuts blend beautifully with the richness of fresh butter, ripe yellow fruit and candied citrus. Slightly peaty aromas at the back of the glass add further depth to the bouquet.

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, silky and coated. Rich syrupy fruit and toasty aromas melt into a buttery, subtly spicy texture, supported by chiseled acidity that lifts the material. The mid-palate reveals a masterful balance between roundness and mineral tension, with a salinity that energizes the whole. The vibrant finish allows the minerality of the terroir to linger, making this Clos Reyssié from Domaine Valette one of the great Pouilly Fuissé wines.
