Wine Description
In the Montagne de Reims landscape, Champagne Marguet 's cuvée Shaman Rosé Grand Cru embodies the excellence of this great house. Produced in the prestigious Grand Cru villages of Ambonnay and Bouzy, this cuvée is made from a major blend of Chardonnay (76%), complemented by Pinot Noir (24%). The chalky, limestone-rich terroir lends this Champagne Grand Cru a remarkable minerality and finesse. True to his philosophy, Benoît Marguet cultivates his vines biodynamically, without herbicides or synthetic inputs. The main harvest comes from the year 2022, enriched by reserve wines to guarantee regularity of style and balance. This champagne is then vinified and aged in oak barrels, a method that favors aromatic complexity thanks to subtle micro-oxygenation. No added sulfur, and above all zero dosage: here, the authenticity of Brut Nature is not a stylistic choice but a conviction that places terroir at the center of expression.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Champagne Marguet 's Shaman Rosé Grand Cru embodies a masterful signature, where the red fruit of Pinot Noir converses with the airy freshness of Chardonnay. This Champagne rosé reveals a balanced, lively profile, perfectly adapted to the zero dosage that reveals its salinity and energy. Among today's Grand Cru rosés, this wine stands out for its ability to evolve without losing tension or precision. A cuvée that is both accessible now and designed to assert its character over time.
On the nose, the wine expresses the ripe juiciness of wild strawberries, fresh raspberries and bright cherries. Floral notes and a hint of grapefruit refresh the ensemble.
On the palate, the attack is chiselled, revealing lively acidity quickly followed by a silky, enveloping texture. The red fruit is delicately outlined, mingled with blood orange zest and fine spices. The refinement and persistence of the bubbles give the whole a continuous tension, carrying a subtle saline imprint. The finish lengthens the aroma of fresh berries, and ends on a mineral, invigorating impression, true to the terroir of Ambonnay Grand Cru.
