Orange Voilée from the Mas del Périé wine estate is a wine made from 100% Chenin grapes, vinified and aged in 800-liter amphoras for 12 months. This is a wine with an atypical, very slightly oxidative style. Orange Voilée underwent only light pellicular maceration, but was not sulfited at all. A magnificent wine for pairing with strong cheeses or Indian dishes.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The cuvée Orange Voilée is a superb wine from the southwest of France, produced in a limited edition of just 1000. Fabien Jouves wanted to reveal his terroir through the noble Chenin grape variety. In fact, it produces fresh, easily digestible wines, which is no longer possible with local grape varieties.
On the nose, the wine is beautifully complex. It reveals intense notes of quince jelly, orange marmalade, gingerbread and hints of pink grapefruit.
The palate is tonic and slender. The fullness of the material is revealed in the mid-palate. It is generous and caressing, while retaining great freshness thanks to fine acidity. The finish is underscored by lovely, noble notes of bitterness.
