Condrieu Chéry from the André Perret wine estate is one of the most sought-after cuvées among lovers of great Condrieu wines. The slopes of Chéry have the particularity of benefiting from perfect exposure: the vines face south/southeast on granite and schist terroirs. The age of the vines is also an important factor, with an average age of 60 years.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The André Perret cuvée Chéry is the wine estate's top cuvée, produced in very low volumes. It's a traditional wine, entirely hand-made from vine to wine. The wine is aged for 12 months, ⅔ of which in non-new barrels.
On the nose, the wine offers an explosive bouquet of citrus fruit, apricot and hints of saffron honey. This is a wine that should be enjoyed slightly chilled at around 12°C.
The palate is full-bodied and generous. Exotic aromas develop with precision and finesse. A great wine from the northern Rhône Valley that has its place on the finest tables in the world.
