Wine Description
Romain Le Bars ' Pousse Cailloux is an invitation to travel to the heart of the southern Rhône Valley, off the beaten track of its appellations. Produced from a loose blend of traditional Grenache, Mourvèdre, Carignan and Cinsault grapes vinified without the use of inputs, this wine celebrates the richness of its stony terroir. These sun-beaten soils of sand and pebbles impart a captivating energy to the wine, which Romain Le Bars shapes with patience and respect. Pousse Cailloux is a wine of great authenticity, captivating by its aromatic complexity and natural balance.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Pousse Cailloux cuvée has the vitality of the great wines of the South, with an unsuspected freshness that gives it a pleasant tension. This wine is an ode to the generosity of the Southern Rhône, carried by a well-balanced blend that remains true to Romain Le Bars' philosophy: true wines, without artifice, imbued with authenticity.
On the nose, the combination of bright red fruits, fine spices and floral touches creates a bouquet that is both expressive and delicate. Generous red fruits, ripe raspberries and cherries, delicate notes of white pepper and licorice. Floral accents of violet and lavender add remarkable depth and precision, while a hint of undergrowth suggests complexity and evolutionary potential.
On the palate, the attack is full-bodied, enveloping the palate in a round, silky texture that is enlivened by fresh acidity. The structure is elegant, with delicate tension carried by fine, well-integrated tannins. The long, saline finish gives the wine a lively persistence, harmoniously blending power and lightness.
