Domaine de Courbissac

Domaine de Courbissac, taken over at the end of 2013 by Brunhilde Claux, is a superb wine estate in the Minervois appellation. The estate's vines are planted mainly on steep, south-facing slopes at altitudes ranging from 50 to 500 meters. They never suffer from drought, as the river that runs down from the mountain provides the necessary irrigation for the terroirs of pebbles, sandstone and schist.

Brunhilde Claux tells us that her vineyards resonate when you walk through them, so numerous are the pebbles. What sets her wines apart is their character and freshness. A profile that is less and less common in the Minervois appellation, and one that we like to taste at Domaine de Courbissac.

The work on all his vines is carried out by craftsmen with the greatest respect for the plant. It's thanks to her time with one of Roussillon's finest winemakers, Domaine Gauby, that she's been able to give her wines the right touch.

The grapes are harvested by hand, then part of the production is vinified in whole bunches, notably the "Les Farradjales" cuvée. Domaine de Courbissac produces fresh, easy-to-digest wines like the cuvée "Les Traverses". We are also fortunate to have a small allocation of "L'Orange", a very successful white maceration wine.
