Wine estate Rieffel

The Lucas and André Rieffel family wine estate has continued to grow in size and quality vintage after vintage. André and Lucas regularly buy new plots of vines to produce a wide range of wines. In 1996, Lucas Rieffel took up the torch and continued the winemaking work with the same exacting standards as his father. He acquired parcels of the Wiebelsberg Grand Cru in Andlau. In 2005, heplanted Pinot Noir at the Kreuzel vineyard . In 2009, he began converting to organic farming. It would take him three years to obtain it. Lucas Rieffel's idea of the business is to combine purity and concentration in his wines, and above all to produce wines that reflect their terroirs.

The Lucas Rieffel wine estate is located in Mittelbergheim, the stronghold of the Zotzenberg grand cru and a wine-growing region for centuries. The soils here are predominantly marl and limestone. A touch of pure sandstone and a few parcels of clay and sandstone.

All the cuvées produced by Lucas are the fruit of a great deal of thought and leave nothing to chance. His constant questioning is beneficial, as the wines become increasingly precise and easy to digest. He has made a name for himself not only with his fabulous crémants, but also with more daring cuvées such as the perfectly balanced Macération Lâcher Prise and his pinots noirs.

Lucas Rieffel is a creative winemaker who has long since chosen his camp, that of producing wines as lively as possible, but always with precision. No natural wine if the vintage doesn't allow it. An unstoppable logic that has enabled him to rise to the top ranks of Alsatian winemakers.
