Clos Puy Arnaud

The Clos Puy Arnaud wine estate is one of the only Bordeaux estates in the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation to produce its winesbiodynamically. Thierry Valette took up this challenge in 2000, to prove that it is possible to make great wines from Bordeaux terroirs with a vision that differs from the classical viticulture of this region.

Over the years, he has made his mark, and today offers cuvées of the highest quality. Starting with his thirst-quenching cuvées, such as Cuvée Bistrot, a pure Merlot that's super-juicy and gourmet. His hard work has earned him two stars in the Green Guide, which is not an end in itself, but a richly deserved reward in view of the complexity of accepting such viticulture on Bordeaux terroirs.

In addition to the work in the vineyard and in winemaking, Thierry Valette highlights the qualities of the different plots through the precision with which he selects them. This is clearly evident in the cuvée Les Ormeaux and, of course, in the Grand Vin du Clos Puy Arnaud. This singularity of work brings luminosity and relief to all his wines, which shine particularly brightly when aged. Today, it's easy to taste his 2014 vintage wines, which are simply divine, and still have plenty "under their feet".

It's been over 20 years since Thierry Valette set up shop with his 14 hectares of vines planted with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, he represents the evolution of Bordeaux viticulture, which for us is full of harmony and authenticity.
