Roulot
Domaine Jean-Marc Roulot is certainly one of Burgundy's finest wine estates in its style. It clearly rivals the wines of the Coche Dury wine estate. The wine estate has been working organically since the late 1990s and biodynamically since the 2000s. Jean-Marc, the current winemaker at Domaine Roulot, oversees all work in the vineyards and cellars. Domaine Roulot wines, and in particular its Meursault wines, are distinguished by their exceptional ageing capacity.
The wines are rather expressive and flattering, with beautiful aromas and noble woody notes. These are wines with a singular style that won't appeal to lovers of delicate, subtle wines, but rather to lovers of richness and complexity.
Jean-Marc Roulot produces wines from the Côte de Beaune's most famous appellations, including Meursault Perrières, Meursault Bouchères and Meursault Tesson . It also produces a highly complex white Burgundy.
Red wine production is marginal, representing 15% of total production in the Bourgogne rouge, Monthélie and Auxey Duresses1er cru appellations. The wines are rather delicate, with a gourmand, charming style.
