Domaine Joblot is the benchmark for Givry , Henri IV's favorite appellation and, above all, the star of the Côte Chalonnaise!

This appellation, unknown to the general public but adored by wine lovers, was created by Charles Joblot . The estate's incredible renown has been built step by step, in step with the family history. Charles' son Jean-Marc was one of the first oenologists to graduate in 1979. With his solid scientific knowledge, he has brought a new lease of life to the Joblot wine estate. Rigorous, precise and sure of his ideas, Jean-Marc easily achieved his objectives, and the wines became the diamonds in the rough of the Côte Chalonnaise! Today, Jean-Marc's daughter Juliette carries on this exceptional know-how , winemaking elegant, powerful and well-structured Pinots Noirs. The whites are of incredible breed, combining smoothness and minerality.

The hillsides face South/South-East, on clay-limestone soils with a high planting density. For the Joblot family, wine is made in the vineyard, and the quality of the tannins and freshness of the fruit must be preserved as much as possible. To achieve this, the grapes are harvested in their entirety within 7 to 8 days and at optimum ripeness - strict criteria, but necessary when aiming for excellence. The wines of the wine estate transcend even the most discerning palate, with their extraordinary tension and minerality in both red and white wines.

The Givry appellation, now in the shadow of the great villages of Nuits and the great whites of Montrachet, is one of the hidden gems of southern Burgundy. It embodies the rising star of southern Burgundy.

The cuvées we particularly appreciated in red were Servoisine, Clos du Cellier aux Moines, Les Bois Chevaux, Clos Marole and L'Empreinte. In white, we literally fell for the Mademoiselle cuvée .
