Domaine Mirabel
North of Pic Saint-Loup, brothers Samuel and Vincent Feuillade have been running Domaine Mirabel using biodynamic methods since 2019. They produce rarely more than 45,000 bottles a year—from Bancels to Éclats—all of which are sold by allocation.
The future star of the Pic Saint Loup appellation
Domaine Mirabel is a family-run wine estate in the Pic Saint Loup appellation. Samuel and Vincent Feuillade are brothers and have been winemakers at the estate for over 20 years, producing wines of character. The wines are produced by hand, and rarely exceed 45,000 bottles a year on the most generous vintages.
Domaine Mirabel's priority is clearly in the vineyard, with a total restructuring of the vineyard and conversion to biodynamic viticulture starting in 2019. Samuel and Vincent Feuillade are fortunate to benefit from the appellation's finest terroirs, most of which are located in the northern part of Pic Saint Loup.
Classic yet modern winemaking
In the cellar, Vincent works with an expert hand and carefully selects each barrel to ensure that the expression of the terroir is as close to its authenticity as possible. Sulfur levels have fallen drastically since 2009, and continue to do so since the conversion to biodynamic viticulture.
This new departure has enabled the wine estate to demonstrate the value of its terroirs, and today this work has been amply rewarded, as all the estate's wines are sold in allocations and prized by the greatest wine lovers in the South of France.
What makes Mirabel wines so appealing is their unbeatable value for money and their great drinkability, which surprises us with every vintage. Given the Feuillade brothers' ambitions, there's no end in sight to the progress they're making in terms of quality - news we're delighted to hear.
The cuvées currently available are Chant des Sorbiers, Les Bancels and Les Éclats. These three wines have very different personalities and a very southern profile that will appeal to a wide range of tastes.
