The Cortona terroir sublimated by Stefano Amerighi

The Stefano Amerighi wine estate was born of a furious desire to produce great Syrah on Tuscan terroirs. To achieve this, Stefano Amerighi identified an area in Cortona called Poggiobello di Ferneta. Geological and climatic investigations carried out at the wine estate confirmed that this was indeed the terroir for massal selections of Syrah rigorously chosen in the Rhône Valley.

The vineyard is managed in a natural, biodynamic way, with pruning and soil cultivation based on the lunar calendar. Biodynamic preparations such as fertilizers and fertilizer are made on site to give vitality to the terroir.

All these steps have one and the same objective: to bring the grapes to the best possible maturity and make them as healthy as possible for harvesting. After that, there's no need for correctors in the cellar, as the grapes are in a state of great purity.

Tuscan Syrah worthy of the greatest Côtes Rôties

All the grapes from the harvest are destemmed and foot-pressed in small concrete vats.

Ageing takes place over 14 months in cement vats and foudre.

A true work of goldsmith, demonstrating that Italian craftsmanship is at one of its highest levels ever. Unfortunately, Stefano Amerighi produces very few wines, and his wines are in demand the world over. These are certainly Italy's finest Syrahs and one of Tuscany's most atypical wine estates.

We have only two cuvées available in limited quantities. The Syrah Cortona cuvée, the heart of the range, and the Apice cuvée, a plot-based cuvée worthy of the greatest Syrahs of the Northern Rhône Valley.
