Clos du Jaugueyron
Clos du Jaugueyron is a wine estate born of the encounter between Michel Théron, who left the Minervois region for Bordeaux, and his partner Stéphanie Destruhaut. Together, they created the Clos du Jaugueyron wine estate, comprising 8 hectares divided between the Margaux and Haut Médoc appellations. At the time, all choices were made in tandem, and if Clos du Jaugueyron stands out so much today, it's thanks to the work and choices made over 20 years ago.
In particular, working the soil has been a key factor in the development of the wine estate's wines. Far from Bordeaux standards, they choose balance and biodiversity. Their convictions and humility enable them to bring an extra depth to their wines.
This transformation of the winegrowing landscape didn't happen overnight and without support. Thanks in particular to the invaluable advice of Michel Chevré and Matthieu Cosse , the couple are now rethinking their approach to viticulture and revealing the full energy of their terroirs.
Both in the vineyard and in the cellar, the quest for terroir authenticity prevails. As Margaux is a Bordeaux appellation with lighter soils, the wines are naturally much more refined and elegant. But it's not without a certain knowledge that Clos du Jaugueyron wines rise to the top of this magnificent appellation. That's why the quality of the harvest is the primary concern, followed by the fruit of their reflections and observations.
The cuvées they produce are always easy to digest and full of freshness, whether it's the Haut Médoc cuvée, one of the best value for money in the sector, or the most authentic, the Margaux Nout. And how could we fail to mention the wine estate's most representative cuvée, Margaux Clos du Jaugueyron.
