Giachino

The Giachino Brothers, also affectionately known as the “Giach Brothers,” have been crafting their winemaking legacy since the late 1980s amid the picturesque landscape of Savoie. Nestled in the heart of the Chartreuse Regional Park, Domaine Giachino stretches gracefully at the foot of Mont Granier, across the towns of Les Marches, Chapareillan, and Apremont.

Rising to nearly 2,000 meters above sea level, Mont Granier saw part of its rock face collapse during the night of November 24–25, 1248, creating a rugged landscape dotted with small limestone mounds that are home to the “Les Marches” vineyard at the foot of one of France’s largest cliffs.

Certified organic since 2008, the Giachino wine estate vineyard, spanning about fifteen hectares, offers a breathtaking view of the Bauges Massif, overlooking the Savoievalley . Pioneers in biodynamics and also certified, the Giachino brothers use preparations 500 and 501 as well as biodynamic compost , demonstrating their commitment to quality and respect for the terroirs. Indigenous grape varieties such as Altesse, Jacquère, Mondeuse, and Persan take center stage.

Following a hand harvest, the winemaking process at Domaine Giachino combines gentleness and authenticity with the exclusive use of indigenous yeasts for fermentation. No additives are used, except for sulfites when necessary. The result is simply breathtaking—sparkling, ripe, and fresh wines that make Domaine Giachino a must-visit wine estate in the region.
