Monfarina 2022 Domaine Giachino | Savoie

The Giachino wine estate's Monfarina cuvée is made from Jacquère grapes , complemented by Mondeuse Blanche and Verdesse, all grown on vines planted on the mountainside. The terroir is essentially composed of marl and limestone, similar to that of Piedmont. In fact, the term Monfarina is inspired by a traditional Piedmontese dance.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Monfarina from the Giachino wine estate is a wine delicately cradled by the Alpine winds, whose meticulous attention to detail is enhanced by the winemaker's biodynamic viticulture. Harvesting is of course done by hand, and yields are kept to a minimum in a commitment to enhancing the terroir.

On the nose, delicate notes of white flowers, pear and subtle minerality evoke alpine landscapes in bloom.

On the palate, Jacquère offers a refreshing vivacity. Flavors of green apple and lemon mingle harmoniously, supported by well-balanced acidity. A lingering finish reveals the crystalline purity of this wine.
