Giachino

The Giachino brothers, also affectionately known as "Frères Giach", have been writing their wine history in the picturesque Savoy landscape since the late 1980s. Rooted in the heart of the Chartreuse regional park, Domaine Giachino stretches gracefully across the foothills of Mont Granier, in the communes of Les Marches, Chapareillan and Apremont.

Culminating at an altitude of almost 2000 metres, Mont Granier saw part of its rock fall during the night of November 24-25, 1248, shaping a chaotic relief punctuated by small limestone buttes that shelter the "Les Marches" vineyard at the foot of one of France's greatest cliffs.

Certified organic since 2008, Domaine Giachino's 15-hectare vineyard offers a breathtaking view of the Bauges massif, overlooking the Combe de Savoie. Pioneers of biodynamic viticulture and also certified, the Giachino brothers use 500 and 501 preparations as well as biodynamic compost , testifying to their commitment to quality and respect for the terroir. Native grape varieties such as Altesse, Jacquère, Mondeuse and Persan are given pride of place.

Following hand harvesting, the winemaking process at Domaine Giachino combines gentleness and authenticity with the exclusive use of indigenous yeasts for fermentation. No inputs are used, except sulfites when necessary. The result is simply breathtaking, with wines that are sparkling, ripe and fresh, making Domaine Giachino a must in the region.
