Wine Description

The Riesling Grand Cru Sommerberg V from theAlbert Boxler estate is an exceptional wine that perfectly embodies the richness and elegance of the wines produced by one of Alsace's most emblematic family estates. This cuvée, from the prestigious Grand Cru terroir of Sommerberg, reveals all its uniqueness thanks to the particularity of plot V. This terroir is made up of very old Riesling vines planted in 1953.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Parcel V of Sommerberg is renowned for its unique granite soil, providing ideal conditions for growing Riesling. The vines are planted on steep slopes, benefiting from optimum exposure to the sun and natural drainage, which encourages the grapes to develop and reach optimum ripeness.

On the nose, this wine reveals a complex, intense aromatic palette, with subtle notes of white peach, citron zest and white flowers.

On the palate, it is distinguished by its silky texture, finesse and persistent freshness, evoking the mineral nuances of the granite soil. The finish is long and harmonious, testifying to the pure, authentic expression of the Sommerberg terroir.
