Albert Mann's Riesling Grand Cru Furstentum is a perfect example of the rigor and grace that characterize the great whites of the Alsace Grand Cru appellation. The 30-year-old vines are rooted in the limestone soils of the Furstentum Grand Cru, on the bright hillsides of Kientzheim. Here, South to South-East exposure and the natural slope ensure slow, even ripening, a guarantee of aromatic depth and balance. This place, steeped in history, has always produced spirited, vertical wines, in which the rock imposes its straight lines, but also wines that age well. A fervent advocate of organic and biodynamic viticulture, the Albert Mann wine estate cultivates this Riesling Grand Cru with the care for which it is renowned: the grapes are harvested by hand, fermentation in stainless steel vats is initiated by the indigenous yeasts present on the berries, and ageing is carried out on fine lees.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin :Albert Mann 's Riesling Grand Cru Furstentum is a wine of relief and nerve, a white of mineral expression that embodies the limestone nobility ofAlsace. It stands out for its masterful balance between tension and aromatic depth. It's one of those wines for laying down that can stand the test of time with elegance. The Albert Mann wine estate 's interpretation of the Furstentum Grand Cru is straightforward, sincere and gourmet.

On the nose, this Riesling Grand Cru opens with rich notes of fresh citrus, exotic fruit and fine aromas of orange blossom. Intense aromatics are adorned with stony, crystalline scents, the promise of a taut, chiseled palate.

On the palate, an energetic attack of chiseled acidity masterfully structures the entire wine. The unfolding salinity supports the fleshy body and accentuates the verticality of the limestone terroir. Delicate bitters balance the richness of the bergamot and fresh papaya aromas, providing a lovely relief and delicious complexity, conducive to long ageing. Fine notes of white pepper, flint and hydrocarbons underpin the minerality of the finish, which stretches out over a clean, perfectly integrated tension.
