Albert Mann's Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Furstentum Vendanges Tardives is one of the most accomplished expressions of this historicAlsace terroir. In Kientzheim, the Furstentum Grand Cru rolls out its marl-limestone slopes, facing south and southeast. These warm, well-draining conditions are ideal for promoting the ripening of Gewurztraminer without losing the minerality of the soil. Vines over 45 years old plunge deep into this friable rock, producing dense juices that are ideal for late harvesting. Biodynamic viticulture and meticulous hand harvesting enable us to pick healthy grapes one by one at their peak of ripeness. The cellar approach remains measured to preserve the signature of the place. Winemaking is carried out naturally, with slow fermentation and control of residual sugar, to achieve the masterful balance between richness and tension that is the hallmark of the Albert Mann wine estate.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : This Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Furstentum VT fromAlbert Mann favors clarity of fruit and precision of terroir. Barely more reserved than its big brother in Sélection de Grains Nobles, it displays remarkable balance in its youth and great ageing potential, which will enable it to evolve beautifully over the next decade at least!

The nose is sumptuous, opening onto a complex, refined register. Exotic scents of mango and roasted pineapple float above the glass, mingling with the floral elegance of lily and fresh rose. Candied fruit aromas intertwine with oriental accents of saffron, incense, cumin and ginger, in a harmony that evokes the perfect ripeness of the grape.

On the palate, this Grand Cru Furstentum VT unfurls an enveloping, rich texture whose fullness equals elegance. The fruit blooms fully, carried by flavors of fleshy mango, papaya and juicy passion fruit. The opulence of the residual sugar is perfectly integrated. The richness of the material is supported by a chiseled acidity that maintains constant tension, giving the wine an invigorating energy far from any heaviness. On the finish, the voluptuousness of candied fruit and sweet spices is enhanced by subtle minerality and persistent freshness, giving the wine remarkable length.
