Auxey Duresses blanc Moulin aux Moines from Domaine Clos du Moulin aux Moines comes from a historic parcel at the threshold of a valley leading from Meursault to the Hautes-Côtes, southwest of Beaune.Auxey Duresses has been an AOC appellation since 1937, and its rich red clay and limestone soils produce Chardonnays of great precision. The wine estate, which took its name from Clos du Moulin aux Moines, benefits from an exceptional environment, protected by a stone wall and crossed by the Cloux stream, which favors excellent drainage and gives the wine a particular freshness.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: The Clos du Moulin aux Moines parcel is ideally located between Meursault and Auxey-Duresses, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. The terroir, made up of rich red clay and limestone soils with rocky outcrops, gives the wine a perfect balance of freshness and roundness. The Chardonnay vines are planted on the left-hand side of the Clos, bordering the village of Meursault, a location that captures the very essence of the terroir.

The nose is expressive and complex, blending aromas of white flowers like jasmine and fresh fruit like green apple, with a discreet touch of minerality that testifies to the terroir's limestone origin. Hints of citrus also add freshness, enriching the wine's aromatic bouquet.

On the palate, the attack is lively and fresh, carried by perfectly integrated acidity that lends the wine lovely tension. The texture is silky and dense, with a round finish. The minerality of the terroir is clearly felt, giving the wine impressive length and a clean, silky, saline finish, typical of great Côte de Beaune wines. This white wine is both well-balanced and elegant, with a fine capacity to age and improve with age.
