Domaine Robert-Denogent 's Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru Vers Cras epitomizes the wine estate's excellence in Pouilly Fuissé. Produced from a 0.50-hectare parcel on the sunny slopes of Fuissé and classified as Pouilly Fuissé 1er Cru since 2020, this wine comes from vines over 80 years old, rooted in deep limestone marl soils. The privileged exposure and nature of the soils give the wine remarkable minerality and exceptional aromatic depth. Domaine Robert Denogent favors organic and biodynamic viticulture, with minimal intervention in the cellar to preserve the pure expression of terroir. Ageing is carried out on fine lees for a minimum of 24 months to polish the material and concentrate the minerality.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Domaine Robert Denogent 's Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru Vers Cras is one of the wine estate's most prestigious cuvées. Its rare elegance and unique mineral tension make it one of the region's finest whites. Produced in limited quantities, it combines power and finesse, and offers remarkable ageing potential. This wine will appeal to lovers of great Pouilly Fuissé wines in search of a unique experience. Its great delicacy will need a little time to be savored in the best conditions.
The nose reveals a complex palette blending lime blossom and acacia with bergamot and blood orange. The richness of honey completes the picture, giving it a slightly spicy depth that is most promising.
The palate is fleshy, full-bodied and supported by perfectly balanced acidity. The definition of the terroir is distilled with great precision, between the power of the marl and the minerality of the limestone. Aromatic notes of white flowers, citrus and honey stretch through to the finish, whose salinity gives this wine an allongevity worthy of a great Pouilly Fuissé 1er Cru.
