The terroir of Domaine Humbert Frères ' Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is located on the lower part of the slope, and is characterized by its light, less rocky soils than the higher Grand Crus, composed of clay, marl and limestone, giving a particularly silky texture to the wine. Winemaking at Domaine Humbert is carried out with the utmost care for this Grand Cru. Ageing is the key to this wine's structure and longevity, lasting around 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Domaine Humbert Frères ' Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is a majestic cuvée synonymous with elegance, seduction and incredible tannic finesse, while possessing the depth and power of the Grands Crus of Gevrey Chambertin. Thanks to the expertise of brothers Frédéric and Emmanuel, Domaine Humbert has produced a collector's wine, indispensable for lovers of great Burgundy wines looking for harmony and colossal ageing potential.

The nose is irresistibly captivating and airily elegant, opening with a palette of bright red and black fruits (candied Morello cherry, juicy blackberry), enhanced by the heady scent of peony and dried rose. The Grand Cru signature emerges with gourmand notes of cocoa bean, fresh mocha and noble undergrowth, all wrapped in a touch of oriental spices.

The onset on the palate is velvety, almost caressing, offering a beautiful density that expresses itself with remarkable smoothness. This wine is a perfect illustration of the "iron fist in a velvet glove": the tannins are incomparably fine, smooth and enveloping, conferring an unctuous texture and impressive length. The balance is sovereign, the freshness not acerbic but seductive, stretching the complex flavors of black fruit and blond tobacco.
