The "Les Montants 2020" cuvée produced by Adrien Renoir is a Blanc de Blancs champagne grown on the prestigious Grand Cru terroir of Verzy, in the Montagne de Reims. The vines benefit from the chalky soil typical of this region, which confers remarkable mineral freshness and aromatic complexity. This terroir stands out for its ability to produce grapes with a perfect balance between richness and tension.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The grapes are grown according to biodynamic practices, reflecting Adrien Renoir's commitment to sustainable viticulture. Winemaking is carried out in oak barrels, allowing gentle fermentation and ageing on the lees to enhance the wine's texture and depth. Bottling is unfiltered, with an Extra-Brut dosage of 0.8 g/L to preserve the pure expression of terroir.

On the nose, the aromatic complexity is striking. Initial aromas reveal fresh citrus notes such as lemon and pomelo, harmoniously interwoven with delicate floral touches such as acacia and honeysuckle. As the wine opens, more gourmand nuances emerge: fresh almonds, subtly toasted brioche and a bewitching chalky minerality.

On the palate, the attack is precise, marked by vibrant tension and striking freshness. A saline minerality runs through the palate, reflecting the unique character of Verzy's chalky terroir. Flavors of citrus, crisp pear and stone fruit blossom, supported by a creamy texture and perfectly integrated Extra-Brut dosage. The finish is long, pure and chiseled, leaving a saline, slightly iodized imprint that irresistibly calls for another sip.
