Clos Naudin's dry Vouvray is made from neighboring parcels of Montlouis sur Loire , giving it a harmonious, nuanced profile. Philippe Foreau has made the conscious choice not to produce cuvées by parcel, in order to accentuate the nuances and thus the complexity of the wine. Another special feature of the wine estate is that the Chenin grape does not come into contact with wood, and undergoes a very short ageing period of around 6 months. With this method, he seeks the greatest purity of expression from the grape variety.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Foreau family's dry Vouvray is a wine of flawless precision and consistency. This wine, made from vines grown on the Vouvray terroir, is seductive whatever the vintage, and always reveals great energy and dynamism.
On the nose, the wine opens with notes of peach, quince, apple and a superb touch of roasted almonds and sesame. It then moves on to more floral notes of acacia and jasmine.
On the palate, the wine is beautifully ripe and unctuous. Very quickly, freshness appears with notes of green apples and yellow lemon, and a mineral framework intensifies this sensation, giving length and finesse to this great dry Vouvray.
