Wine Description
The Charms Chambertin of the domain David Duband is one of the most coveted great crus of the Coast of Nights. It comes from a terroir composed mainly of marnes, its vines are more than 85 years old. It is one of the prides of winemaker David Duband who has always wanted to produce high quality wines in his region of origin. Here, on the Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru, the wine is vinified to 80% in whole clusters then the wine is raised in barrels for 14 months.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The wines of David Duband are all of great purity but the Charmes Chambertin stands out from the other wines of the estate by its air side and its great conservation potential.
In the nose the wine is perfectly open, on notes of acidic fruit. A touch of sandalwood brings originality. It is a wine of great finesse that rivals the most Great Burgundy.
The mouth is large and scraped but still closed, it is a wine that needs time. After carafing, the aromatics reveal themselves a little more on touches of blackcurrant, plum and light touches of leather.
