Long description
The David Duband wine estate is a family-run business created when Pierre Duband, winemaker since 1965, took over the estate. David Duband gradually bought up a number of vineyard plots, and over the years has expanded the estate. Today, the David Duband wine estate covers 17 hectares of vines in some of Burgundy's finest appellations.
The wine estate has been working organically and without chemical weedkillers since 1998. In addition to the significant environmental impact, the decision to go organic was clearly motivated by the need to improve the quality of the wines through better rooting of the vines. David Duband is a keen observer, analyzing the effects of each treatment and each tillage operation to ensure that the vines are in the best possible condition to produce exceptional grapes.
In 2008, he also chose to vinify some of his wines in whole bunches to bring structure, tannin and freshness.
David Duband's wines are lively, limpid and racy. They brilliantly reveal the subtleties of Burgundy's different climates. The estate's emblematic cuvées include Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Louis Auguste, Vosne Romanée, Nuits Saint Georges, Nuits Saint Georges Aux Thorey and the mythical Charmes Chambertin, as well as the extremely rare Grand Cru Echezeaux.
