Wine Description

Domaine De Montille's Corton Charlemagne is one of the most prestigious terroirs in the Côte de Beaune. This Burgundy Grand Cru is situated on a complex Jurassic soil composed of clay-richmarl . The vines are over 60 years old, and their south/south-west exposure enables them to achieve excellent ripeness while retaining acidity.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : In my opinion, the Corton Charlemagne from Domaine de Montille is the finest cuvée on the wine estate. It represents the fruit of meticulous observation of the terroir and meticulous winemaking to bring out the quintessence of this Grand Cru. Etienne de Montille and his team work biodynamically to bring maximum energy, freshness and minerality to the wine.

On the nose, notes of citrus fruit, white flowers and a hint of honey create a delicatebouquet . A hint of pastry appears, but without being too opulent. A superb, elegant approach to terroir .

The palate is rich and fresh, with acidity present throughout. Notes of lime blossom, grapefruit, cardamom and a hint of yellow lemon are perfectly balanced. I also note the presence of a beautiful minerality that brings incredible depth and an almost interminable length on the palate! A great Burgundy wine!
