Wine Description

Domaine Charvin's Côtes du Rhône makes the most of its regional appellation, which is all too often overlooked. Without claiming to equal a Châteauneuf du Pape, this wine stands out for its balance and its ability to be enjoyed easily when young. This cuvée comes from several parcels of land farmed organically by the wine estate. The blend is composed mainly of Grenache (80%), Mourvèdre, Carignan and Vaccarèse.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: This Côtes du Rhône embodies the unique savoir-faire of Laurent Charvin, who has become one of the leading lights of the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation. He brilliantly reproduces the harmony and subtlety of his blends on this Côtes du Rhône cuvée, which is unquestionably one of the prettiest you can taste right now. The grapes are perfectly ripe, and the ageing is mastered. It's a delicious, juicy wine, ready to enjoy in its youth.

The nose is intense and expressive: as soon as it opens,a hint of rusticity from the Mourvèdre grape, far from displeasing us, lends the bouquet a beautiful élan. On aeration, notes of fig, thyme and a hint of pepper intermingle perfectly.

Juicy on the palate, the tannins are already very supple. The wine is very silky, without excess or heaviness. Noble spicy notes evoke cinnamon and a hint of licorice. The finish is fresh and easy to digest.
