Wine Description

A great Cabernet Franc

Bourgueil Perrières is a gently sloping, south-facing parcel with a thin layer of clay on the surface. The vines planted here are over 40 years old and benefit from exceptional sunshine. Les Perrières is a terroir very similar to Mi-Pente in that it is situated on the same geological vein, but has the advantage of being a little more supple in its youth. After a few hours decanting, the wine reveals very elegant notes, a Cabernet Franc as we like them.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: The Perrières terroir of the Domaine de la Butte is always full of surprises. It is characterized by its suppleness and great elegance, whatever the vintage. Winemaker Jacky Blot praises the merits of this parcel, which is very similar to the Mi-Pente cuvée but more accessible. Yields are also very low, in order to obtain the best possible juice.

On the nose, Bourgueil Perrières reveals notes of undergrowth, cocoa, black cherries and a hint of menthol. The Cabernet Franc grape reveals all its elegance while retaining all its authenticity.

The palate is intense, powerful but not heavy. Notes of sweet spices mingle with hints of blackcurrant and prune. The finish is marked by fine tannins that add freshness.
