Clos des Lambrays is a Grand Cru in the Côte de Nuits, ranked among the 100 greatest wines in the world. It's a quasi-monopoly covering a very large area - in fact, it's the largest area of Grand Cru vines in the whole of the Côte de Nuits. The vines are very old, averaging 40 years. This wine is one of the mythical Grand Crus that you must taste at least once in your life. Le Clos des Lambrays is one of the most prestigious and qualitative terroirs in the world, a model of balance and elegance with immense potential.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Le Clos des Lambrays is an extraordinary wine in every way. It stands out from the other Côte de Nuits wines in terms of its great potential and, above all, the incredible complexity it offers when mature. It is clearly on a par with the greatest wines of Burgundy, and is right up there with the wines of Romanée Conti. Its high planting density (around 12,000 vines per hectare) has something to do with it. Indeed, it is this competition between the vines that allows the roots to reach deep down to find the nutrients they need to develop their aromatic complexity.

On the nose, the wine is dark and austere in its youth, with notes of black fruit arriving gradually. There's great depth to this wine, but it's honestly far too young.

On the palate, it's a different story: the wine shows its character, the material is intense, greedy and very juicy. Notes of spice and black fruit are present but still a little discreet. The finish is very fresh, thanks to the presence of tannins. A must-have.
