Domaine du Pélican Arbois Chardonnay 2020 | Jura

Domaine du Pélican 'sArbois Chardonnay is a 100% Chardonnay cuvée made like a Burgundy wine, but in 350-liter barrels for 10 months, of which only 10% is new. An interesting interpretation of Arbois terroirs, combining Burgundian classicism and Jurassian authenticity. Note that some of the barrels used for winemaking belonged to the Puffeney wine estate.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The 100% Chardonnay cuvée from the Pelican wine estate is a jewel of complexity and tension. Since 2015, Jacques Puffeney 's old vines have been part of the blend. A true privilege for Guillaume d'Angerville, who honors him perfectly with this Chardonnay d'Arbois.

On the nose, one immediately senses the Burgundian style of winemaking, as the wine is very intensely aromatic. Hints of mentholated verbena, quince, star anise and hints of citrus can be detected.

On the palate, the wine is generous on the attack, with lightly pastry notes and hints of smoke and iodine. This is followed by notes of white fruit and more exotic touches. The finish is very sapid.
