Marc "Esprit Vigneron" Distillerie du Petit Grain | Languedoc

The result of a rare collaboration with brothers Benoît and Sébastien from Domaine Danjou-Banessy in Espira-de-l'Agly, Marc Esprit Vigneron from Distillerie du Petit Grain is an eau-de-vie deeply rooted in its terroir. The result of the distillation of unstemmed marcs from the emblematic cuvée Supernova, made from Muscat d'Alexandrie, this distillate embodies the rigor, poetry and freedom that characterize these two exceptional wine estates. Vinified with the skin and without de-stemming, the Muscat transmits a singular freshness to the distillate, oscillating between resinous notes, white flowers and candied citrus zest. All this is distilled in the distillery's open-fire copper still in Saint-Jean-de-Minervois. Only the heart of the toast is retained, without filtration, to faithfully sublimate all the atypical aromatic complexity of the grape variety and soil.

The nose is extremely expressive and complex, with aromas of dried rose, musk, fresh fig and peppermint. Clementine zest mingles with almost camphor-like vegetal touches, reminiscent of resinous woods and sweet spices.

The palate is finely textured, with superb digestibility. Evolving floral notes, candied yellow fruit and a noble herbaceous framework are served by a saline persistence on the finish.
