Wine Description

Domaine Ganevat 's Poulsard L'Enfant Terrible comes from an old vine planted between 1949 and 1959, on a terroir of grey and white marl. Vinified in whole bunches with semi-carbonic cold maceration, it undergoes no intervention to preserve its freshness and natural expression. Poulsard, Jura 's king grape variety for red wines, expresses itself here at its purest and freest.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Domaine Ganevat 's Poulsard L'Enfant Terrible has a name that suits it like a glove. A wine of character, it reveals immediate pleasure and a profoundly Jura identity. Poulsard is not an easy grape to tame; Jean François Ganevat doesn't try to, and that's precisely his genius.

The nose unfurls superb aromas of red and black fruits, sloes and blackberries, enhanced by complex notes of undergrowth and noble spices.

The attack is supple, fluid and immediately greedy, marked by a delicate acidity that gives the wine great energy. The tannins melt almost entirely into the silky, airy body, which is deliciously stretched by a finish of lingering red fruit.
