Wine Description

Cuvée Siclène from Domaine de la Terrasse d'Elise is a sublime cuvée produced by Xavier Braujou. The blend is made up of 40% Roussanne , 40% Marsanne and 20% Chardonnay. The terroir is composed of rolled pebbles and clay, on a parcel perfectly suited to growing white grapes. It's cool and windy, but still southern. A terroir envied by many winemakers in the area who struggle to find the freshness they need.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Siclène is a great Languedoc white wine that is fabulous in many ways. First and foremost, it displays incomparable finesse and freshness . The terroir imbues the wine with a floral and fruity imprint of remarkable balance. Xavier Braujou has voluntarily reduced his yields drastically in order to obtain the highest grape quality. If you get the chance to visit the wine estate one day, you'll see that this parcel in the heart of the Massif d'Aniane, surrounded by woods and century-old pines, is exceptionally singular.

On the nose, the wine opens with exotic notes of mango, yellow peach and greengage. Notes of honeysuckle, lime blossom and a hint of aniseed emerge after light oxygenation in the glass.

The palate is fine-textured and airy. Notes of fresh almonds, honey blossom, exotic fruit and a hint of citrus fruit add acidity. Great Languedoc white wine.
