Wine Description

Cuvée Marlène N°3 from the Peyre Rose wine estate is the most affordable wine in the Marlène Soria range. This wine is made from Syrah and Grenache vines. It reveals itself very easily in its "youth", even after 10 years of ageing. Its style is more delicate and suave than other cuvées on the wine estate. The tannins are fine and supple, with a sunny character typical of the wine estate's style, but without any violence.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: This Marlène N°3 cuvée is the least well-known of the Peyre Rose wine estates. This is primarily due to its more delicate, fresher and sweeter character than Clos des Cistes and Syrah Leone. There's even a hint of minerality, depending on the vintage. But be warned: this is still a great wine! How can you compare one great wine with another great wine, at this point it's just a question of taste..

On the nose, the wine opens with notes of black cherry, spices and garrigue. A hint of kirsch and menthol add freshness. The minerality is felt through a flinty, warm pebble aspect, which is very appealing.

The palate is sublimely caressing. It's rare to find a wine with such a silky mouthfeel and aromatic complexity. There are notes of ripe fruit, but also hints of raspberry, sugar strawberry and juniper berry. Once again, Marlène Soria has worked miracles.
