Wine Description
Domaine Roc des Anges' L'Oca cuvée is a white wine that embodies the elegance and purity of the Macabeu grape. This grape variety, also known as Macabeo in Spain, is renowned for its freshness and aromatic finesse. This parcel, known as "l'Oie" in French, has the particularity of a vein of clay running through the entire height of the schist. This characteristic is reflected in the wine, which starts out spherical and then becomes vertical.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The cuvée L'Oca is a superb wine for conviviality and the ideal companion for your summer meals. A Macabeu planted in 1957 of rare finesse and aromatic expression. Its red clay terroir gives it a singularity that would make it pass for certain Loire wines. L'Oca is winemaked using natural fermentation, followed by ageing in old 500 and 228-liter barrels, without the use of new wood or bâtonnage. This approach aims to preserve the purity of the fruit and reveal the authentic expression of the terroir.
Oca reveals a very subtle, delicate nose. Aromas of white flowers, fresh citrus and white peaches are accompanied by subtle accents of acacia honey.
On the palate, this white wine offers a consistently elegant palette of flavors. Flavors of juicy peaches, ripe lemons and pears are supported by delicate minerality and lively acidity. The whole is superbly balanced, with a very fresh, sapid finish.
