The cuvée Amphore from the Mas del Périé wine estate is a Cahors made from Malbec vines over 40 years old, planted at an altitude of 350 meters on red clay soil. Fabien Jouves chose to elaborate this cuvée with the aim of giving both finesse and depth to this Cahors. Fermentation and ageing take placein 800-liter amphoras for 9 months.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Amphore is a long-ageing wine that has been interpreted very differently from the "classic" way Cahors wines are winemaked. The grapes are totally destemmed, and winemaking and ageing are relatively short. The result is a deep, complex wine that will hold up admirably over time.

On the nose, the wine is concentrated, with smoky, peppery notes. Black cherry jam, violet and dried prune aromas appear after oxygenation.

The palate is generous and greedy. The texture is extremely silky and expresses great aromatic richness. Notes of black fruit, spices and balsamic. The finish is powerful and fresh.
