Méo Camuzet 's Hautes Côtes de Nuits Blanc Clos Saint Philibert is the estate's only proprietary white wine. Its terroir lies at an altitude of 380 meters on very stony soil. The vines are located just 300 meters from the famous Echézeaux vineyard, and have been flourishing perfectly since 1990. The gently sloping southeasterly exposure is ideal for ripening Chardonnay. The wine is aged for a short time in non-new oak barrels, to preserve all the minerality and freshness of the terroir.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Hautes Côtes de Nuits Blanc Clos Saint Philibert is a cuvée whose climate is a monopoly. A jewel in the heart of the Côte d'Or, among Burgundy's most prestigious appellations. I love the frankness of this wine, which reveals perfect balance and meticulous ageing. A wine with an ageing potential of 8 to 10 years, which is relatively important for the appellation.
On the nose, the wine reveals intense notes of quince, honeysuckle and pineapple. There are also superb notes of sweet spices, hints of citrus and a beautiful minerality. Particularly well-constructed aromas.
Full-bodied and silky on the palate, with notes of ageing well integrated into the wine. Mineral tension and pretty bitters quickly make their appearance, toning the wine. There are lovely aromas of citrus and ripe fruit, as well as a superb salinity that lasts a long time on the palate - it's superb!
