Domaine Ostertag’s Pinot is a blend of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris, two sister grape varieties that the Ostertags bring together with effortless harmony. The vines grow on clay-sandstone, loess, and schist soils on the plateau overlooking Epfig, and have been cultivated biodynamically for over twenty years. In the cellar, Arthur conducts winemaking in old Burgundy barrels, using long fermentations and keeping sulfur to an absolute minimum.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: The Ostertag Wine Estate ’s Pinot benefits from a winemaking process that simply highlights the grapes’ inherent purity and the uniqueness of the terroirs, offering a luminous, one-of-a-kind experience in the glass.

The nose opens with aromas of white peach and acacia blossom, along with a hint of barely ripe apricot. Stone fruits and floral notes express themselves with candor.

The palate is fresh and taut, with just enough roundness to ensure it never feels austere. A delicate, almost briny finish that fades gracefully. A highly approachable Alsatian white, shaped by a terroir and two grape varieties that have nothing to prove.
