Màs a Tierra from Domaine de la Petite Empreinte is a unique cuvée from a plot of Pinot Noir planted in 1990 on the limestone hillsides of Vincelottes, Burgundy. West-facing and organically grown on Kimmeridgian and Portlandian soils, this vineyard produces an authentic, precise Burgundy wine. In the cellar, the expression of the grape variety is the guiding principle behind Mélissa Bazin and Romain de Moor 's remarkable natural wine cuvées. Màs a Tierra is the fruit of a 30-day maceration in whole bunches, fermented spontaneously and without the addition of sulfur. In the glass, the result is unmistakably expressive.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Màs a Tierra from Domaine de la Petite Empreinte is a remarkable interpretation of Pinot Noir in Coteaux Bourguignons. It combines finesse, freshness and complexity, offering a captivating sensory experience. The wine's supple structure contrasts beautifully with its aromatic tension, revealing a precision rare in this still discreet appellation.
On the nose, the wine opens with aromas of morello cherry, cranberry and wild strawberry, accompanied by herbaceous notes, damp earth and sweet spices.
On the palate, the attack is lively, supported by refreshing acidity that balances a supple, silky body. The tannins are fine and well-integrated, giving the wine an elegant structure. The finish is persistent, marked by notes of red fruit and a hint of minerality. Another fine cuvée from Domaine de la Petite Empreinte, redefining the standards of natural wines and the little-known Coteaux Bourguignons appellation!
