Wine Description

The Syrah Léone cuvée from the Peyre Rose wine estate is the wine with the highest proportion of Syrah. Syrah accounts for 90% of this cuvée, which is rounded out with Mourvèdre. This is the wine estate's most supple, gourmet and suave cuvée. Yet, like all Marlène Soria red wines, it reveals a powerful character. Its complexity and length on the palate are simply extraordinary, making it one of the great Languedoc wines.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Syrah Léone is one of my favorite wines of the Languedoc, its suave, powerful yet gourmand character giving it a balance that approaches perfection. Its ripe, sunny, dark side gives it an authenticity found nowhere else. A wine I consider mythical every time I taste it.

The nose is bewitching, revealing notes of truffle, black olive and gingerbread. A slight spiciness appears after a few minutes. The olfactory notes develop with incredible finesse.

On the palate, it's a farandole of notes, each more gourmand than the last. There are also notes of black tapenade, clove and cedar. This is a fabulous wine to be savored slowly.

Quite simply, a great Languedoc wine, both complex and delicious.
