Wine Description

The Bandol Rosé from Domaine de Terrebrune belongs to that select category of rosés that one takes the time to savor rather than drink in a hurry. Located in Ollioules, just outside Bandol, the wine estate stretches across hillsides dominated by Mont du Gros Cerveau, a setting that naturally tempers the summer heat and preserves the grapes’ freshness. The estate, which has been farmed organically since its inception, sits on Triassic soils where bluish limestone outcrops beneath a thin layer of clay, giving the wines a distinctive minerality. Ageing takes place in a cellar carved directly into the rock, designed to preserve the integrity of the fruit and help this rosé develop remarkable aging potential.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: The Bandol Rosé from Domaine de Terrebrune is one of those rosés that deserve to be cellared rather than drunk in their youth. This cuvée embodies the precision of this family-owned estate, where Reynald Delille’s signature style is evident in a restrained, vinous profile that remains true to the authenticity of the Bandol terroir.

The nose stands out for its delicate, refined aromas, where white peach and light-fleshed fruits interplay with subtle floral notes. A hint of aromatic herbs, reminiscent of thyme and the surrounding garrigue, underscores this wine’s Mediterranean origins, lending a wild and authentic dimension to the whole.

On the palate, the attack is fresh and precise, supported by a saline structure that traverses the palate to a taut, mineral finish. The body, both full and delicate, retains the elegance characteristic of great Bandol rosés, while a light, tangy liveliness subtly prolongs the tasting experience without ever weighing down the wine.
