La Curatte from the Hameau Toucheboeuf wine estate is Simon Gastrein's only single-vineyard cuvée . He is the only winemaker to grow vines in the area that bears the name of his cuvée. A Gamay that's elegant and delicious when young. Long ageing, natural winemaking and whole-cluster vinification enable it to rapidly reveal its full potential.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Hameau Toucheboeuf's cuvée Curatte is one of the most surprising red wines I've tasted in recent years. Its profile is reminiscent of Rhône Valley wines in terms of substance, transporting us into a world of red fruits and sweet spices. The Gamay reveals all its splendor after a few hours of opening and, above all, at a serving temperature of around 15°C. A wonderful surprise for lovers of easy-drinking, fruity, low-tannin wines.
On the nose, this wine is very engaging. It reveals notes of raspberry, crème de cassis, prune and a hint of cinnamon. A touch of noble herbs appears, bringing freshness to the whole.
The palate is silky, delicate on the attack. The Gamay reveals all its finesse and delicacy , developing notes of morello cherries, star anise, a touch of licorice and a hint of menthol. A superb wine produced authentically by a passionate winemaker, and it shows. Thank you Simon Gastrein.
